 I made a cake for Chloe's birthday Eloise and I made a banana cake this morning (brownie recipe, swap cocoa powder for mashed nanas). I cut it
and we iced it light pink. It's in the fridge at the moment.
Funny it seemed more important to make the cake than decide when we're going to have it. Haven't invited anyone over or anything.

Oh that's so cute! I know what you mean about the making of the cake being so important, that's how I've felt about making Maria's birthday cakes. It's like the effort that goes into making it is therapeutic or something...one of the only things we can keep doing every year for our babies.

Happy heavenly birthday angel girl Chloe, please remember to give your Mummy, Daddy, little sister and little brother angel kisses, so they know you are near.
Lauriel, I hope the day has been ok for you Hun, and you have had a chance to remember your precious wee angel girl, and how lucky you are that she picked someone as special as you to be her Mummy. Always know that wherever you go and whatever you do she is with you, looking down on you and giving hugs and kisses. You beautiful person with a truly beautiful heart.

Finished cake, tada!
Eloise's story for Kindy (I wrote a blurb at the top about baby Chloe who died in mummy's tummy)
We ate the cake after dinner, got her pic and her ashes on the table and DH talked to her and told her she was loved and her mum had made that beautiful cake for her. Eloise asked lots of questions ('if she's broken, we need to fix her' and 'is she going to come out of the jar?' amongst others) and gave me a bit hug when I cried. 
A friend of mine in Scotland asked me if I believed in mediums and then she sent me this email

I saw your little girl, sitting on the grass outside the hospital I work at 'up there' she had a birthday cake and a HUGE soft toy unicorn? and was surrounded by wrapping paper and other toys. she had a cake just like the one you baked, complete with candles and was with your grandparents, especially your grandfather, an upright, almost formal but loving man with the most wonderful twinkling eyes.... they say to tell you she is happy, and loved and the only problem left is a little work still needed on her back, but she is walking and talking and knows she is loved.
she's wearing a very pretty , baby girl dress in yellow and palest green, a little old fashioned but looks so sweet...she even has a ribbon in her hair Made me cry happy tears.

sorry hun havent' been around much. Happy belated birthday to Chloe. Wow that cake is just perfect!
And total goose bumps after reading that letter. I believe but still goose bumps lol.
