. . . are sooo stupid. I just thought I'd share one of those moments that makes you think, WHAT THE?????????

I was at the supermarket this avo and was carrying Loralei. There was a lady behind me heavily pregnant and with a little boy around 3. She seemed lovely. She asked me how old Loralei is and commented on how beautiful she is. I asked her how long she had to go and if she knew if she was expecting a boy or girl. 3 weeks, it's girl she said and this one is the last. Then comes 'that' question. Is she your first?, she asked. It started out fine, I explained I had a daughter who was sadly stillborn. Oh no, she replied. It could have ended there, but ooohhh noooooo, she just had to make a comment which I'm sure SHE thought was perfectly nice. "IT'S NICE YOU HAVE THIS ONE TO REPLACE HER". Like I said "WHAT THE?????" And this woman is a pregnant mother, you think she'd have a clue.
As usual I thought of many things I could have said on the way home, if only I was quick enough and wasn't so damn polite. What I should have said was "Would you think of the baby your carrying as a replacement if your son was to die, I THINK NOT YOU STUPID WOMAN.
I am so angry right now I don't know what else to say.

How bloody rude!

You'd think she'd have a bit more common sense being a mother herself!

I myself, would have told her what I thought, but that's me, talk now, think later.

Don't let her worry you too much, you've had two very beautiful little girls, neither of them replaceable.

Hopefully she thought about it afterwards or even in a month or so.
