Post my news!!!!
Ok so here it is.........

I'm Pregnant......
only 5 weeks along, and I'm a complete and nervous wreck...so much so that I'm paranoid and haven't even called the dr. yet to schedule an appointment (they won't see me till I'm 8 weeks anyway).

I think I'm more in shock then anything....Josh and I just started talking about having another baby, so I stopped taking the Pill and got pregnant 1 month later. This is definately our surprise baby.

I think the thing that makes me most nervous is that I'll be pg when Tylers 3rd birthday rolls around. Last time I got pg with Brady after TJ's birthday, so I didn't have to deal with that. I'm also feeling guilty about having another when my little Tyler (TJ) isn't with me. I thought that since haveing Brady these feelings wouldn't be as strong, but I acutally think they are stronger this time around.

So need advice how do i get around the paranoia?????

Bridget

Firtsly, CONGRATLUATIONS. I don't have much time to post because Loraleis getting a bit antsy in the highchair, but, I just wanted to say, teh paranoia will fade. I don't think for us it will ever go away, a worry fre pregnancy is a thing of the past, but it does get easier, well it did for me anyway. I was certain I was going to miscarry (in my mind) with Gabe, but as time went on I relaxed a little.
Here's to a trouble free 9 months hun, well done on falling p so quickly :)

CONGRATULATIONS BRIDGET!!
Sorry cant be much help with the paranoia, but I'm will be watching this thread closely for when it is my turn to be in this position.
Have you thought of maybe talking to the doctors and seeing if there is a early scan that they can give you to check that everything is in the right place and doing what it should, just to put your mind at rest? I know with Bayden I had a scan at 7 weeks as I was worried due to having had my m/c before him. Hope that helps and sending you all the love in the world.

Congratulations! :D What a lovely suprise.

I have only had one sub pregnancy so I'm expert on it, but the thing that helped me through was being in total denial, LOL. It wasn't until 20 weeks that I even allowed myself to start feeling a little excited. I suppose it helped me to 'pretend' that I wasn't bonding with this baby. Looking back it was naive to think that, but it is what got me through.

I suppose there is no way you'll get over the paranoia, but I guess you just need to roll with it for the time being. Don't waste all that enery on feeling bad about the way you're feeling, just accept it and keep going.

Something that really helped me too, was positive visualisation. Just lie down close your eyes and imagine yourself arriving home from the hospital with a lovely wee baby in the back seat of the car, and then coming inside and putting said lovely wee baby in its bed etc etc. This really helped me to start feeling positive about what was happening.

I can only imagine how you are feeling. I'm sure it won't be easy but the other girls have given some great advice..... which I hope to utilise myself one day!

Good luck with everything. :goodluck:

Congrats Bridget!

I found it helped (and still helps) to set myself small milestones to break up the pregnancy. First it was my first scan at 6 weeks, then my first antenatal appt at 10 weeks, then my NT scan, feeling bub move, anatomy scan, point of viability, 28 weeks etc. It helped make the whole thing not seem so overwhelming and I just kept thinking "if I can get to x date then..."

Hi Kaz
yeah I'm doing fine. Am booked for an 8week scan on April 15th (they don't do scans over here before 8 weeks unless it's an emergency type thing). So I have to wait another 2 weeks.

Have had a little morning sickness, I think it's more because I don't like breakfast and was taking my prenatal vitamins on an empty stomach, but am doing much better. Just waiting.......

Bridget

OK quick update....
I'm 15 weeks now and doing fairly well. I had an 8 week scan awhile back which showed just one healthy little baby with a very strong heartbeat. To look at me now you'd think I was have several babies as I had to start wearing maternity clothes at around 13 weeks. I haven't gained any weight, actually have lost a few pounds which is good considering how round my belly is looking. I guess with this being my 4th pregnancy, you do show a little quicker.
Alyssa is totally over the moon with the thought of a new baby coming, but is really hoping for a sister. I again have decided to not find out the sex of the baby....I really love the shock and surprise during the delivery.
I do believe they will be inducing me 3 weeks early this time, just like they did with Brady.....so it looks like sometime the begining of November.

I too have a fetal monitor (I bought it with the last pregnancy), and I use it every couple of days to check the heartbeat. It's always in the same place, so very easy to find which is comforting

Still a little nervous, but after what we all have been thru, I know it's to be expected. I'm not quite as nervous as I was with the last pregnancy, but I think that's because it's still sinking in that I'm pregnant.

Oh on a side note.....a few weeks ago I did end up with a lot of left side cramping and passed a good size kidney stone a few hours later (I did that the last time also). I'm not sure what it is with my pregnancies and kidney stones, but they seem to go hand in hand.

Well that's my update....just trying to keep busy

Bridget

Hi Bridget, I am so pleased to hear things are going well for you!! :joy:
I can sympathise with the kidney stones, they are nasty, can't say I was pregnant with mine though, got my first lot at age 12, then again at 27. i was told cranberry juice is the best thing.
Good luck!!!

OK....sorry ladies I haven't been around much. Very busy here trying to sell our current house, and getting ready to build a new one.

Well I am now 26 weeks along. Things seem to be going fairly smoothly. I tested positive for down's syndrome again, just like I did with all of my other kids. I'm not sure why this keeps happening. All of my level 2 ultrasounds have been normal, so I'm thinking this was a fluke in the test again. I have my glucose test in 2 weeks and then I'll have bi weekly monitoring.

Just like my last 3 children, we have again decided to not find out what we are having. I'm getting the girl vibe thing, but not really sure. I like the nature of the suprise during delivery when the dr. tells us it's a boy or girl. It just seems like such a natural high at the time.

I'm still working tons in the emergency room, so much so that my ankles are really taking a beating and swelling. It gets pretty hard to run around a busy ER when my tennis shoes are feeling too tight.

So that's it for now, not too much to post really

Bridget

Wow....Has been along time since I've been on here. I've been trying to catch up with all the posts.

Well Here I am......almost 35 weeks along (the same amount of time I was when TJ died). My weekly non stress tests have been going well, and it looks like I'm being induced in 2 weeks. My next appointment is next wednesday and from there I'll be booking the amniocentesis to check for fetal lung maturity. If that goes well, I'll probably be going in Novemember 5th or 6th.

The sex of the baby is still a surprise, although I'm feeling the girl vibe thing. My daughter alyssa is hoping so much for a sister....so I guess we'll see.

Well that it from my end of the world....so good to hear so many of you are pregnant.
