Thanks for all the replies! Its nice to be able to share happy news with you all.
Update: My m/w is on holiday atm, the person covering for her has booked me in on my m/w list. Unfortunately this covering m/w also booked my bloods and scan, and managed to stuff them both up. Went in for what I thought was serial HCG's today, and it turned out to be just my antenatal initial screening tests. Also had a call from radiology at the hospital and they have booked me in for a scan this Thursday. Which is fine, but at 5 weeks gest, you can't even see a HB! Grrrrrrrr......... At least we'll get a look to make sure its not a molar preg, or empty sack or something awful like that. If I'm still not satisfied after that I might request another scan after 8 weeks.
Suffering from a serious case of FREAKING OUT too. Just trying my best to keep calm, I can't help but imagine the worst. I went out today and bought a new change mat for the new baby in the hopes that would give me something positive to focus on -that kind of stuff helped with Angus- but it hasn't really. I can't quite let myself look past the 1st trimester let alone think about what it'll be like to actually have another baby. Already lying awake at night wondering if I'm having a m/c

I know how you feel with the pregnancy, its a tough one, I bought a bib the other day just to make it all real again, can't say it worked for me!! As the girls on here have reassured me, its understandable that you are feeling like this. I don't know what i would do without all you guys!!
Stink news about the m/w though! At least you will have your one back soon
take care of yourself

Oh Lizzie first off huge hugs sweetie, I must admit that those thoughts of m/c have run through my head a few times too. I too am a bit of a novice at this seeing as how this is my first subsequent pg. What a bugger about your acting m/w stuffing up. hopefully your own m/w can sort it out when she gets back.
sweetie

Well its official: I am pregnant with a black dot! The pregnancy is so early that all we could see was a 1cm black dot, no foetal pole, no HB, absolutely nothing. The radiographer tells me that this is perfectly normal for 5 weeks and that they can't see anything until 8 weeks . Which is precisely what I tried to tell them on the phone the other day but was assured that they would be able to see what they needed to.
I'm going to have to stick it out until my m/w appointment on 1 July.
ETA. Well at least bubs has a new nickname now 'Dot'.

Good news about lil Dot Lizzie. Sorry to hear those silly people didn't listen and booked you in for your scan earlier than you'd have liked I'm sure your mw will be able to sort another when she returns tho. Least in the meantime you know that the pg is all confirmed!

Yay for my midwife! She was so cool about the whole scan thing, just wrote me a referral right then and there and yesturday I managed to get in on a cancellation spot!
Dot is now more bean shaped, has a loverly heart beat and cute wee stumpy arms and legs that it waved at me during the scan. Measuring perfectly for my dates.
Eeeeek - I almost feel excited
