Re: I can't believe it......
Hi Lynne The pattern goes up to Size 7. I'm currently doing the Size 4/5 for Caitlyn. If you want the pattern let me know and I'll scan it for you.
Yes, must get onto another belly shot.

Re: I can't believe it......
Hey everyone We had our 28 week scan today and everything is looking great. She sure is a wriggly little thing and I now know why my left side feels black and blue as that is where her feet are!
Hope you can see the good head profile photo we got - had to wait till bubs stopped sucking her fingers!!

Re: I can't believe it......
Just under 33 weeks and time for another update.
We met with our OB for the first time today and were very pleased with how compassionate she was about our situation. Our MW had written a lovely letter to her about us and also followed up with a phone call, so she was very sympathetic.
Anyway, we now have a plan to manage the birth of our little peanut girl. They are going to admit me at just over 36 weeks (which will be the 5th March) .... holy moley that's only 4 weeks away! If I don't go into labour naturally, they will induce me at 38 weeks. We talked C-Sections, but came to the conclusion that because I labour well, this wasn't necessary and as long as I am in a 'controlled' environment when I go into labout (as it is very likely to be another rapid one!), everything should be OK.
I am relieved to have a plan in place and I will be very happy to put my feet up and play the waiting game in hospital! (will have to stock up on some good books!).
I have another scan booked for the 16th Feb and will have one on the 2nd just before I am admitted. Everything is looking good so far. My bloods have revealed very low iron levels, so am being pumped up with iron tablets and under orders to eat lots of red meat ..... not my favourite, but it's for a good cause!
My glucose levels have also been good (after having gestational diabetes with Caitlyn), but the OB is keen to keep a close eye on it.
I think that about sums me up for now ..... must get another belly photo shot on here soon.

Yahoooooo how exciting.. I have no plans like that as yet, OB and midwife are happy for me to cruise as I have been doing. I feel like a monster at the moment. You are going to have a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to hear all about it and see pics of your wee bundle of joy.

Re: I can't believe it......
I've just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes again!!! I had it with Caitlyn, but my tests with Liam kept on coming back OK.
On the positive side, it's good that we know and we can put things in place to manage it. With Caitlyn, I just had to test my blood a few times a day and keep the levels under a certain number by being careful about what I was eating. I assume (and hope!) it will be the same this time! But there goes my lovely treats of chocolate bars and Macas for breakfast!!!
I have an appointment with the Diabetes specialist on Thursday and have to keep a food diary this week to show them. They will then set me up with the testing equipment and a list of foods I can and can't eat!
I guess it could be worse .... I could have got it weeks ago!! But at least finding out now, I should only have to deal with it for the next 4 weeks at the most.

Re: I can't believe it......
We had our 34 week scan today and Bubs is growing well and although the measurements are showing an above average size (as both Caitlyn and Liam had shown), the liver is looking fine (not over-sized which can be a sign of any problems with gestational diabetes).
They had a new machine and had the facility to do a 4-D scan. However, because of the late stage and bubs wriggling around like a mad thing, she couldn’t really get a good picture unfortunately. We caught sight of a couple of times of Baby’s face but didn’t manage to get a good photo that I can post.
The worst part of the scan was that I kept on feeling sick laying on my back - why do they make those beds so hard!??? I had to keep on rolling over onto my side and even had to sit up at one point as I thought I was going to faint!! Still though, it was great to see bubs and will see her again in 2 weeks time just before we are admitted to hospital.

Re: I can't believe it......
Thought I had better post another update, which will be one of the last before I am admitted into hospital next THURSDAY ..... OMG!!! I have been struggling with managing the Gestational Diabetes with diet and they have today started me on insulin ...... as if I needed something else to contend with! It's not too bad and my readings tonight have been good so far. I had my last day of work today so that is a nice feeling and looking forward to Mum arriving Wednesday next week. Have been feeling very very anxious about everything and panic at every slight niggle! Bubs is very very active and has been giving me some very painful kicks and senstations down in the pelvis - often leaving me wonder if it is the start of a contraction. But it doesn't come to anything. My MW has been great and told me that if I at all feel really panicy - just to let her know and she will get be admitted. I think it makes be feel less anxious just to know that! Will keep you all posted with news as it comes to hand!
