Totally understandable Emma, just like you said, nerves and hormones, one without the other is bad enough, but both at the same time, what a nightmare. I hope the day has gotten better for you. Big hugs, take care.

Thanks guys. Today is a bit better, although I just lost the plot at Maya for letting the office chair down while I was sitting on it. I think this whole waiting game is just doing my head in a bit. The midwife said she thought the girls would be here by now, the OB said 36 weeks, and I have visions of them being in there forever, so it's hard not knowing whats going on.

Telly - I feel for you - this is the first house we've had with a bath in 3 years and I soooo missed it!

I am glad to hear you are feeling a bit better Emma.

All your fears are understandable, though I am sure everything will be fine just as long as you are being well monitored, and I am sure you are.... big hugs and I hope time goes quickly till your twins are out alive and healthy and in your arms.

Melanie

Oh boy, I think things are starting to happen...

Yesterday I went in for my weekly CTG and it picked up contractions every 2-3 minutes. Not real ones because they aren't painful and I'mnot dilating, but enough to make my m/w say she thinks they are ready to move.

Then today I had my routine antenatal appt and Miss Sienna has her head fully engaged (D3) ready to pop out! I kind of figured she had dropped as I have been having a lot of pressure, and my trips to the loo have increased to halfhourly (I didn't even know that was possible!), but I wasn't expecting her to have dropped so far.

So the midwife says she thinks sometime in the next 10 days, but most likely sooner rather than later.

I have given them very strict instructions to stay put until after the weekend as my m/w is on leave all weekend, plus Maya has 2 birthday parties to go to, plus Mum and Dad are arriving Sunday night which would make things so much easier for me with Maya if they are here when I go into labour. I really want my m/w to deliver the babies too as she's been there since day 1 and I think she is more excited about it than me - she will be devastated if she misses out! Although the other m/w she works with is lovely too...

Knowing my luck tho (and the larrikin genes that my girls have no doubt inherited from their Daddy) my waters will break in the middle of the birthday party or something.

Oh how exciting Emma. I was talking to Maria yesterday and we were saying how great it would be if you had the bubs while she was here. Maybe you might.

Best of luck

Could well do! She has promised to come and visit if I do! I'm sure I'll be particularly attractive, but then I turned up early in the morning to visit her when Jayde was about 2 weeks old and she was still in her PJ's so I guess that would make her even with me lol!

I am sooooo ready for this to be over! I don't remember feeling this icky with Maya even at full term - I walked from one end of town to the other the day before I went into labour with her, and yet right now walking to the letterbox seems too much like hard work. PLus my feet are huge purple things, and Miss Sienna is using my bladder like a trampoline which is causing havoc with things down there.

I am NEVER doing this again!

Oh hun, you poor wee thing - i bet you TRULY can't wait for them to be out! This wee one has her foot in my bladder at times, so know how you feel there.

You take care of yourself okay, and try to put those feet up, as hard as it may be. Get that man to give you a foot massage, or back!

Well I am now getting plenty of rest - but not by choice lol! Have been ordered onto bed rest by the midwife as she is worried about the swelling and circulation in my feet and legs, and my iron levels are way low even tho I am taking a double dose of the iron tablets. If they aren't improving by Tues I have to have iron shots - icky! But that might explain why I have been feeling so yuck.

I have also been forbidden to drive which is a pain. The midwife thinks it is a bit risky with my feet the way they are. So Willie is taking this week off until my Mum gets here on Thurs so that he can take me to my appts and take Maya to preschool.

Am a bit bored with the whole bedrest thing already, but had a nice afternoon today. A friend came over and made me lunch and we sat outside in the beautiful sunshine (with my feet up of course!) which was very relaxing.

I'm not surprised that iron is low - you have two wee gems stealing it all!

I know bedrest sucks - but I guess now you are getting some much needed rest before the madness begins!

Not long to go now hun

((hugs))

Thanks guys. I had a scan this morning and they are estimating bubs at 2.3 and 2.6kg, which is awesome for 34 weeks (around 5lb3 and 5lb13) and my midwife is back this afternoon, so any time these little gremlins want to put in an appearance is all good with me!

Emma I have found taking the ferrogradumate iron tablets that I absorb them better if I cut/crush them up in the morning and have them with a Vit C powder drink - must be hard getting enough iron in for two such big girls!!

How exciting...

Hope your feet calm down with the extra rest!

Those a really good weights your girls have there, what a wonderful job you must be doing nurturing your little ones :)
Bummer about the not driving and bedrest, hope you have some good books if you like reading and hopefully time will fly by.

Take care

I'm so glad I have some great friends. One of my friends just picked Maya up and is taking her home for a sleepover with her little girl, then in the morning she is taking them to a Fairy Magic class at the local school as part of the holiday programme. So much nicer for Maya than being stuck at home with a fat, grumpy Mama!

And another friend brought me a DVD player that actually works (mine doesn't) and some books to keep me entertained, and yet another friend came over yesterday and gave me a manicure. So I am being well spoilt!

And my Mum arrives tonight from Sydney. Funny how much you can still need your Mum even when you are all grown up...

Saw the midwife this morning and I am 2cm dilated which is awesome coz it means induction will be that much easier. I have to be at the delivery suite at 10am on Saturday and she will break my waters and see what happens from there. She seems to think I will start having contractions fairly quickly after that, but if not they will start a synto drip after a couple of hours to get them moving.
