Jacqui that is so great to hear things seem to be going well and sounds like coming home is the best plan.

I'm so worried that something is wrong, I'm scared that my baby has died and I have no way of finding out whats going on till they do the routine scan at 12 - 13 weeks, I just don't feel pregnant.
I'm scared that if my baby has died it's because I was questioning my ability to be a good parent to 2 kids under 2, I was wondering how I would cope.
I'm so pissed (excuse my language) that they (docs) won't do anything for me, they won't even see me as it's not necessary, it just leaves me really upset and crying all the time
Sorry for the dramas, just need to vent I suppose

Hugs Jacqui, I'm sorry you are having a sucky time of it. Is there any chance a different doctor would let you have another scan?
And don't worry about how you will cope with 2 under 2 - you will be amazing! And your lil ones have big sister Tylar to help out too!
Thinking of you hun,
Emma

Oh Jacqui I am so sorry your having such a difficult time, as if it isn't hard enough being in a new country. I remember the feeling well of not relly feeling pregnant. It sounds ludicrous that they won't give you a referal for a scan. How for off are you for the routine scan? Could you get your midwife/doc to do a letter of reccomendation or something for the docs over there so they know just how necessary it is for you?
And I agree with Emma, you will cope wonderfully with Theron and Tylar as support.
(((hugs)))

Well nothing like a few tears to get your point across, the doctor caved and refered me for a scan which I had this afternoon and there was my little bubs moving all around with a nice strong heartbeat, I almost cried.
My due date has been changed by a few days to the 29th April but this will be confirmed when I have my nuchal in a couple of weeks.
Take care all
Jacqui

Yay my heart monitor arrived today and of course the first thing I did, was check to see if I could hear bubs and... yes yes yes, sorry a bit excited. It seems I have been able to do more for me than the useless doctors over here.
I'm just happy that I can now check in on bubs for myself and know that he/she is doing good, I could even hear him/her moving around
Also, I'm coming back next month, a bit earlier than anticipated but couldn't be helped, the only thing is certain people are making me feel bad for coming back and leaving DH here for a couple of months beore he joins me, implying I am selfish, I did not think it was selfish to want the best care for baby!

Hi Jacqui,
So glad you can hear bubs, those monitors are fantastic aren't they. Wow, I didn't think you we're coming back so soon. I don't think it's selfish of you at all, I'm sure your dh understands completely and thats what matters, and wanting the best for bubs, I don't blame you at all, I'd probably do the same.
Keep us posted. Perhaps we can do another coffee catch up when you get back.
Take care.

I'm glad the monitor has helped put your mind at rest. I still use mine if the babies have been a bit quiet.
I'd be keen to do coffee too, and I'll have babies by then!

Just a quick update
All seems to be going well, I have my nuchal scan next week which is good except I have to drive into the city for it don't get this country
Still feeling sick, thought the closer I got to 12 weeks the less sickly I would feel but it has actually got worse, oh well.
I have booked my tickets back to nz and arrive on Nov 2nd, I'm very excited but also very sad to be leaving DH behind, everytime I think about it I start crying
We are going to have our own little xmas here because DH won't be able to make it back for christmas and we are taking Ty and Kairyn to seaworld the weekend after next as a little goodbye thing and to celebrate me getting past 12 weeks (fingers crossed)
I thought that this being my second subsequent pregnancy it would be easier and I would be more sure of a positive outcome but no especially after Kairyns birth, I feel even less certain about how things will go, I'm just as scared as I was with Kairyn and after doing some research about cord accidents it seems that if you have had one baby with the cord wrapped around their neck your chances of another baby having the cord around the neck increases, I don't mean to be such a worry wart.

Feeling sick can be a good thing - means those hCG levels are nice and high. But I hope it eases off for you soon!
Good luck with your nuchal scan, and I hope Tylar and Kairyn enjoy Seaworld as much as Maya did!

Jacqui, big hugs. I think any pregnancy after the death of a baby is going to be difficult. Vent as much as you want here, we are all here to support you. (all the way to 9 months).
We fly over to the GC on the 23rd of Oct, and leave on the 2nd Nov, what date are you going to Sea World? We might see you there.
Take Care
Luv Ally

Thinking of you Jacqui. It would be hard enough to have another baby so soon under "usual circumstances", let alone what you have gone through. After I read Kairyn's birth story I was convinced I would just have a section to avoid anymore accidents. I understand how you feel. Hang in there...(((BIG HUGS)))

Hi Jacqui,
Your little Xmas sounds lovely before you leave. I'm not surprised you get emotional at the thought of leaving hubby behind, I'm sure your emotions are all up the whop anyway with being preggers again, let alone adding the anxiety of worrying about the pregnancy and having hubby in a diff country. You know were all here regardless.
Take care, and let us know how the nuchal scan goes.

Yay! had my scan today and bubs was moving all over the place sucking his/her thumb and waving at us (well that's what I like to think) we were given very low odds for downs etc... so that was nice, now I just have to wait patiently for my 18-20 week scan so I can find out what flavour I'm having
I will post a pic when I am able to scan the pic
