Post Jacqui's Pregnancy
Thought I would start my own one up since everyone else has one, could be jinxing myself tho

Have to have a bitch and a cry, the bloody australians are so stupid, well the healthcare workers certainly are, they have done nothing for me except stuff everything up, like not doing the most important blood test which was requested, my hcg's, like how do you miss that one?? and they all ask which number pregnancy is this and I tell them number 18 to which they stare at me like I'm nuts and say are you sure?? Hmmm think I would know, they seem to imply that I'm lying and the silly doc get me to do a pregnancy test and when it come's up positive says to me "well it seems you are pregnant" think I knew that already that is why I am here!! idiot but the worst was the not so helpful antenatal nurse who after I explained my history and what I needed says to me "it's not my problem" cheers for that (note the sarcasm) I could go on and on but I wont.
I just want to come home to where I know I would be looked after :tear:

Just needed to vent I guess, thanks
And the spotting is still going on I'm so worried and have no one to really talk to about it.

Take care all
Jacqui

Oh Jacqui big hugs! I hope you find a doctor that will listen soon! I know a few people in Brisbane if you want me to ask around for you about doctors?

Oh Jacqui, how aweful for you, I'm so sorry your having to deal with idiots, I hope someone gets a clue and starts giving you the care you need and deserve. You know we're always here for you to vent. Sending the stickiest vibes and a heap of hugs. Take care.

My SIL is in Brisbane and had a successful high risk pregnancy a few years ago. I'll ask her who her specialist was and get back to you.

Well no heartbeat yet still too soon but the gestational sac has increased in size and there was a yolk sac (little bubs #4) so it's a viable pregnancy (hate that word viable, so clinical) and I my hcg's have doubled so that is fantastic and the nausea has started :)
Will have to wait another week before the next scan so hopefully then there will be a HB.

Jacqui

Hi Jacqui, that scan sounds really good! Congratulations, you must be quite relieved.

I had a word with my SIL, she had our nephew at Royal Brisbane Womans Hospital and says that the care there was fantastic. She didn't name a specialist in particular but apparently they have a good selection there. She reckons that she has had friends go private and they have had some bad experiences, so stick with the public system. She has a horrible blood disorder which means that she has a 50% chance of M/C, but managed to carry our darling nephew to full term without any problems.

Good luck. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Lizzie

Urgh, Australians huh!

Sucks when you can't get the treatment that you deserve.

Glad to hear that the scan went well and that your HCG is rising.

((hugs))

Well.... We have a nice strong heart beat, had a scan yesterday and there on the screen was the little flutter, I was so happy, so I just have to focus on getting through the next 5 or so weeks and then I can start to worry about getting through the next 6 months, the worry is just never-ending.
I'm feeling absolutely awful and have started throwing up, but wouldn't have it any other way.
I now just have to decide where to have bubs I really want to come home I know I would feel far more comfortable having bubs over there, I've already talked to my midwife in NZ and she's more than happy to take me on, she knows me and my history and she was great with both Riley and Kairyn and I know it will be hard to come across that kind of care in Oz, anyway still have a few more weeks to decide.

Jenn - Birth control, It's quite ironic really as we were not really trying but were not doing anything to prevent pregnancy but the night before we left for oz Theron and I decided to go on the pill, so off to the docs in the morning to get a script, forked out all this money and 2 weeks later I find out I'm pregnant :) quite a shock really, still sinking in not to mention that for 6 years we baby danced like mad trying to get pregnant and it always took forever and here we are now pregnant without even trying minus one tube, like I said ironic, but couldn't be happier.

Great to see you guys got a heartbeat, must be re-assuring.

I know myself being somewhere new finding a replacement midwife is hard, especially when they dont know your history, can't imagine how hard that much be across the ditch.

Anyway, ((hugs))

Congratulations on seeing a heartbeat Jacqui - That must be so reassuring. Fingers crossed the next 5 weeks and beyond go well too.

We had our first son Zac in Melbourne so I kind of know the Australian health system although we did go private. Will you? If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help. I also know a NZ lady that lived on the Gold Coast until recently...she is back in NZ now but definitely had an obst/gyn over there if you want me to ask who it was. She used to write a little bit on this board too but that was about a year ago...her user name was Nimbus...do you remember her?

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Take care - it sounds like you are doing a great job so far!

Claire :)

Just a quick update
Everything seems to be going fine, not that the doctors will let me find out for sure, they won't let me have any more scans which has me really upset as I need to know that everything is fine especially this week as I don't normally get past this point it's normally around now that I would miscarry... so apart from that I'm still feeling very icky  but aparently glowing and already I my tummy is outgrowing my jeans :)

I was looking at going private but after the hassles I've had so far I'm going to come back to NZ to have bubs, I feel safe and comfortable and the midwife and specialist know me and I know I will be looked after properly.

Take care eveyone
Jacqui

Hi Jacqui,
How frustrating not being able to have more scans, I suppose it would cost a small fortune to go private, still, you would think they would make allowances especially considering your history.
Glad things are going well as far as you know, the expanding waistline is a good sign :) Grow baby grow.
Take care and hi to the family.
