Post subject:  Lisa's Bucket List

As we al know, Lisa wasn't well enough at the end to complete her bucket list, so..........I had a thought, why don't we do it for her. I'm not sure of what else was on it but I'm getting the list from Debs so we can see what we can do.
I'm going to start with doing a Pottery Course for her. Instead of just doing the course, I want it to mean something, so, I'm asking if anyone would ike to sponser me to do the course and I'll then auction anything off that I make and donate the money to Lisas Wish Charitable Trust (will do another thread about that later).
What do you think.

eta - As I was sitting here typing my brother in law pulled out $200 for me to do the course  , will have a look at prices but I think that'll cover it.

Manda I was trolling thru this site and came across Lisa's List.

Here it is:

Ok here goes.
Learn to Juggle (silly I know but I really want to)
Go for a Hot air balloon ride
Go in a Helicopter
Go in a Stunt plane
Bungee jumping
Swim with the Dolphins in the ocean
Go whale watchinga nd have film in the camera...ok digi with me...long story)
Go to Ozzie and 'meet' my daughter
Do a boat cruise of the Islands
Take my kiddies to the theme parks in Oz
Go to Disneyland with Kita and Cort
Oh the list goes on, way too many things to go any time soon

She later added the Pottery Class!!

So what is left to do??

I would love to do the Hellicopter flight. Hmmmm Sands Conference in Aug maybe we could arrange to do it then with a few of us will look into Hellilink and see how much it is.

Manda the Pottery Class is a great idea.

I was talking to Debs and she said that the list on the site isn't complete that no many people have the full list, she's going to e-mail it to me.

I'm pretty sure she did the chopper flight in Queenstown.

OMG Manda and Fleur I love both the ideas.
I think I am gonna start some crafty things and get selling to go onto the trust Lisa wanted.
I love that you get to do the pottery course that Lisa would have loved to have done. Such a fab idea.
Oh and Fleur...life is way short so thinking of what I would like to do in the next year! Might not be as inspirational as Lisas atm but I have alot of personal growth to forfill this year I know that is one.

Ohhhh I will put my hand up for the Hellicopter Ride I have always wanted to go on one!!

I must looking into the Breast Cancer Pink Breakfast thing here. Dont think I can afford another trip up to Auckland its an 800k round trip ekkkk!!

Lynne Lisa has inspired me so much. On the drive back to the Naki today I was thinking about Lisa, Ian, Nikita and Cort. Lisa mentioned she wanted a book for Nikita and Cort to remember her by so I have penned an idea for a Childrens book for them. I have written the words and just have to find someone who is a skilled drawer or else learn quickly and do this book for them. If its good enough I might see if I can get it Published for Lisa's Charity with Ian's ok first. Here is the words I have written. Let me know what you think or what I can add to it!!

Here is my Childrens story:

My Mummy is an Angel with Bright Pink Hair.

My Mummy is very special the best Mummy there can be.

She has a smile that is almost as big as the sea.

She is very strong, and very brave, my very own superhero!!

She is MY Super Mummy!!

She could jump out of Areoplanes, and could leap off Bridges in one bound.

She loves cows!!

Especiallly Bright Pink and Purple ones with fluffy pink boas!!

We would go on big adventures that were alot of fun.

She taught me how to make Snow Angels

And soak up the warmth off the sun.

My Mummy you see is like no other.

She is very speical the best there can be!!

Cos you see.

My Mummy is an Angel with Bright Pink Hair.

She is bright as the Sun!!

As Colourful as the Rainbow!!

The brightest Star on a clear night sky.

She is my Mummy,

The Angel with the Bright Pink Hair.

I am also thinking about writing my own personal story to get the word out there about Incompetent cervix and the complications of your Hormones and how they do affect your pregnancy.

Lisa sure is one special lady!! Even after her death she is still inspiring others!!

Wow Fleur, awesome! I was thinking of you driving back all that way by yourself, must have been tough coz it's so lonely in the car on your own.

When are you around next Telly?

Post subject:  Re: Lisa's Bucket List

Yeah Emma it can be a lonely long drive but I left just before 7am so no traffic on the road so it was straight run home took me about 3 hours from Morrinsville which is good goin.

When I do the Illustrations for the book on every page im going to hide a tiny fantail that you have to find as that is the Symbol Lisa gave us so im going to use that in the book.

It will be Dedicated to Lisa as she is the inspiration for the book!!

Author:  mayasmummy [ Sun Apr 12, 2009 10:09 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Lisa's Bucket List

I found the fantail especially poignant as I am quite superstitious plus pathologically afraid of birds - oddly I found it reassuring rather than panicking which is how I usually respond to being stuck in a confined space with a bird.

Post subject:  Re: Lisa's Bucket List

I did love the fantail, I'd love to think of it as a sign, however, Lisa hated birds  she hated balloons too  like me.

I still ove the symbolism to it, I love your idea of using it in your book Fleur, I could have a try of doing some drawings, although I haven't drawn anything in years

What brilliant ideas! I love the book, had a bit of a blurry screen there for a minute! I'm trying to think of what I can do for the bucket list, I'm a wuss who is scared of heights!! Although I have been in a helicopter, it was pretty cool.
Lynne, I love your crafts idea too, let me know if you need any help with anything, i would offer to make some things, but I have the artistic ability of a frog. Maybe I could help you sell them??

I was wondering what others thought about doing this in Nov, which was significant to Lisa being when she first was diagnoised and also Nov Last year she was in Queenstown Doing some of the things on her bucket list,

Well done all of you doing things in Lisa's name.

I have been feeling guilty about that helicopter ride for ages now  ...............I was arranging a flight for her in Auckland (DH is in the heli industry so we have friends in the right places) but the good buddy who was organising this was diagnosed with Luekaemia that same week. I couldn't really pester him about the free flight then could I? But yes she did get a heli ride in Queenstown so at least that was crossed off the list.

Fleur I'll try and keep you in mind next time we go for a ride at DH's work. We don't often get much notice, but if you're in the right place at the right time they are great about letting us tag along. Hopefully Angus won't need to pee 10 minutes into the ride this time though

Am not sure when i am up next - anytime really pending I have enough time to organise my family first :)

All these ideas are great - i love the book idea - and love the whale watching thing too. I'd have to wait closer to the time for that seeing as $$ is a bit tight 4 us at the moment.

My dad is a really good artist, lives in Auckland, i could try talking to him? But I'd have to ask first, has so many projects on at one time....
