aw Tracey, huge hugs to you and wee Shawna. What are the precautions that you have to take? and OMG at two bottom teeth!!! Jessie's teeth are visible in her gums but not cutting through. |

Thanks guys, all the Dr said was not to send her to daycare! I don't think she has a flu of any sort. I'm going to see how she is on Thursday and if there is no change, I'm going to another doc, I like ours but he is very young. |

Its not good here atm! Shawna has been sick all week, started vomiting suddenly on Sunday, followed by the squirts, now she is doing both and has an ear infection. Poor wee thing has lost so much weight. She is at the point now where she will take some of her bottle and if she doesnt puke it up, it flies out the other end. The Doc has put it down to yet another bug! We have an appointment with a peadiatrician, but thats not until near the end of October! This morning she had half a bottle, a bum change, a play, another bum change and when I held the rest of the bottle up to her, she started gagging before it even got to her mouth. She is at the point now where she is working herself up to such a state when having a bottle, its not good. DH had been home with her all week, I'm so lucky to have him for support - my family are still being knobs. Especially my mother - I feel quite alone to be honest, but thats another story. I've taken the day off today so DH can work and have a break from poos and puke. Right, must go and do more washing.......just wish the weather was better, sick of pjs and sheets hanging around in the lounge! |

Shawna is starting to come right now, eating like a trooper! making up for lost feeds I think  I get so upset when she is sick, she is so unhappy. I don't sleep well because I am so scared something will happen to her. She is not having long day naps now, or sleeping through the night anymore! But its all good, as long as she doing well, I'm happy. I can think of much worse things than being woken up through the night to feed her

Well must be time for an update! We are back to sleepless nights! Shawna has been sick on and off for a while now and have gotten so used to having feeds in the middle of the night. We are trying to break the habit, but its not easy. Tuesday night was terrible - she was up every 2 hours for at least half an hour. Thank goodness I had yesterday off work! She is teething and nothing seemed to help. Last night she woke twice so that wasnt too bad. I think I would cope with the waking a lot better if she hadnt have slept 12 hours straight for months!! We have an appointment late this month at the hospital for her so hopefully we can find out why she is always sick - its starting to get scary. I picked her up from daycare today and when I walked in she saw me and held up her arms to me!! I nearly cried! Then she moved onto her hands and knees and CRAWLED to me, thats right SHE CRAWLED!!!!! She now says bubba, mumma and dadda!!! Well they are not very clear but we know thats what she is saying!! I tried to take a vid tonight of her crawling to daddy but the bloody memory card is full, typical. I am going to empty it soon, so will hopefully have one soon!! |

I keep losing my post!!! Shawna is now crawling at an estimated speed of 100 miles p/h  . I can't keep up. The only time she stays still is when she has pulled herself up onto her feet!! She has taken a couple of steps, supported by Daddy  . Nappy changes are a misson, legs in all directions, tantys thrown - doesnt want to stay still!!  Words Shawna can say - Mumma, Dadda, Bubba, Tigger (sounds like "iga") and Clever (sound like "eva"). She doesnt say them very often, but they are there. It seems that she find a new one and focuses on that and forgets the rest!! We finally had an appointment with a paediatrician, they have measured the hole in her skull and will keep an eye on it and make sure it doesnt get any bigger - if it does then we will have to get it x-rayed. I changed her onto a lactose free formula, its made a big difference, I dont think she is lactose intolerant, but apparently when wee ones get sick, they have trouble digesting things and its a good idea to change them over for a couple of months?? Here's a couple of pics.

OMFG!!! tell your little girl to slow down please?!!! How cute is Shawna? Love the photo of her in the hammock, very cheeky. Haha Jess is the same with nappy changing time, if you arent fast enough she starts to kick you and gets all stroppy. Okay I may have missed something here, but what is this about a hole in her skull?!!!  We have got one word here at the moment...Dadda! much to Daddy's delight

Sorry, havent been on line much - so busy!! Yvonne, thanks for the lovely comment about the photo its the best one of very few of us together! We have so many of her and Daddy and her on her own, but Daddy just doesnt think to take ones of me!! I hate having my picture taken but really should get some more!Anyway - the hole, sorry I thought I had mentioned it! She has a hole in the back of her skull about the width of the end of my little finger, perfectly round. We just have to watch it doesnt get bigger, cant really say much more than that, cos I dont know!! Took her too the pool yesterday, after an initial freak out she settled down and really enjoyed herself, she was floating along with Daddy with such a smug look on her face! I was in the pool too so didnt take the camera, wish I did tho, so cute!! She is now standing all by herself, walking cant be far off!!! |

Well it was Shawna's 1st Birthday on Thursday, lots of pressies and even a party at daycare. We took her to see Santa today! What a giggle that was!! Off to McDonalds after that for the first time ever, she loves cheese burgers!! Will post more pics after xmas. She is sort of walking now too!! |
