 a new baby to add to the bunch Hi everyone. Jenn emailed me and I wanted to forward on to you all her news.
Last tuesday she had a gush of blood, rushed off to the hospital and had a baby boy via emergency c-section. His name is Matthew. He is 4lbs 13oz and is 44cm long. Jenn says he's doing fine.
He has to stay in the NICU for about 3 weeks since he was 7 weeks premature, and since his lungs haven't fully developed yet. He was on CPAP for a few days, but is now on a head box, and they are currently trying to wean him off of the head box. He's being fed her breast milk through an oral gastric tube.
She's spending most of her time at the hospital right now, but says she'll send out pictures the end of the week or whenever she gets a chance too.

A very BIG CONGRATULATIONS Jenn, on you wee boy Matthew.
What a surprise. Glad to hear Matthew is doing well though and I can't wait to see some pics

Hi everyone!!
I will add some pics so you can see my little man Matthew. He was born last Tuesday night by emergeny C Section and came out crying, but then needed to be resucitated moments later. He was 9 lbs 13 oz and had only lost 4 oz in the past week. He is currently up to full feeds and he has even had a try at the breast a few times (athough rather inefficiently!). The removed his IV yesterday but he is still on low oxygen for the moment. He will likely be in the NICU for another 2-3 weeks. Right now he is the only baby in the NICU so he gets all the attention.
I am so in love with him!!!!

Wow Jenn what a bonnie wee fellow Matthew is. Yip I can see why your so in love with him too, hope he is home with you pretty quickly. Was he really 7 weeks early and 9lb, if so wow what a big baby.

Oh Jenn, I am so happy for you, your pics bought tears to my eyes, what a long way we've come since our journey began, I bet Nicole is the proudest big sister and is watching over Matthew and making sure he grows big and strong. He is so precious. Congratulations.

Thanks for asking Telly,
Matthew is coming along wonderfully now. They have taken him off oxygen and now needs to grow a bit! He is also out of teh incubator as he can maintain his temp now. He weighs 5 lbs 10 oz already, which I am very pleased about. He still continues to be tube fed for some feeds during the day as he is a bit too tired out to stay awake for teh entire feed. The doctor said that he should be home within th e week, maybe even by the weekend.
Oh ya, he discovered his thumb yesterday!! I will post a pic of him sucking it later.

Oh Jenn, great to hear Matthew is coming along in leaps and bounds, sounds as though he is doing really well! You must be really pleased!
The thumb aye, Cameron started on his fingers, and is still going at nearly three! Is very cute.
