Post subject: | “HOPE FOR THE DAY” from SilentGrief.com |
August 22, 2005 When struggling through the emotions of loss, nothing seems to feel right. No matter how hard we try to enjoy the blessings of each day, there is a gnawing voice that continues to remind us that something is very wrong. How can we get that feeling of peace and contentment back when our world has been turned upside down? Learning to live again following loss is like learning to speak a new language. The words are not only spoken differently, but they have different meaning, too. Not everyone understands, and sometimes it’s hard to explain what you are saying. The rainbow in the sky is still beautiful following a loss, but is has a far different meaning than before. It now means so much more. The rainbow is not just a painting in the sky; it now gives hope and comfort to the hurting heart. It takes time to learn how to speak the new language following loss. There will be times when the words come out all wrong. Some days there will be nobody that will understand. Often, there will be the need of a friend to provide help as you struggle to find new meaning out of the ordinary things in life. Give yourself as much time as you need. You will begin to hear laughter and the sounds of joy again. Yes, everything seems so different right now. But, not everything has changed. God’s promises remain faithful and true. The sunrise continues to usher in a brand new day. The flowers bloom bright and beautiful following the rain. Hope will place a new song on your heart! --Clara Hinton “I will live one day at a time knowing that I will eventually walk into the sunshine again.” --Clara Hinton “The eternal God is thy refuge and underneath are the everlasting arms.” --Deuteronomy 33:27 |
