Disposables - too lazy but can definitely see the pros of cloth as well. :)

I used the good old cloth squares with Maya, and after checking out some of the fancy (and expensive) new fitted cloths, will probably stick with the cloth squares for this bub too. Cheaper, and I didn't find them to be too much more work.

But we used disposables in the first few weeks, and at night as they are more absorbent.

I am a new cloth addict! I agree with you mayasmummy, its very expensive to buy the MCN (modern cloth nappies), but if you look at the long term costs of disposables .................cloth is heaps cheaper. I'm a wee bit of a greenie too, so I like the fact that they are better for the environment. And they are loads better on the skin than all those chemical filled sposies. Did you know that some sposies contain a product that is illegal for use in womans sanitary pads/tampons because it causes toxic shock syndrome? No thanks, would rather not put that on my baby's butt! Also the fabric's they use these days are fantastic, and they are supposed to be more leak proof than sposies if fitted well.

I'm going to sew my own pocket nappies to start with, so that I don't spend a fortune only to decide its too hard and I'd rather use sposies anyway. They are really easy to make, and work out at around $5 each that way.

OK did I manage to convince anyone to use cloth? LOL Had to try! I will be using sposies for the first little while anyway until I get myself sorted out after the birth etc.

I've never had a problem with leaking or anything like that with disposable's with Cameron - and am planning to use them again.

Well I have about 50 terry nappies and about 20 pairs of weenies and the weenie liners so I guess that answers that for now, will use disposables at night though and when we go away. Have a few boxes of them so haveto use them too.

Lizzie, am thinking of being brave and trying the new cloths at night as the squares aren't so absorbent. A friend recommended Fuzzibuns for night time.

Mayasmummy I already have 2 fuzzibunz and they are just lovely. There is a sale on at the moment on their website, around $30 each with insert, but still very expensive. I'm going to a nappicino meeting today, which is a get together of mums and mtb who are using cloth nappies. Might be a bit dull but I'm going to go along and check it out.
