Midwives
I have a question?
How often did you ring your midwife?
The reason I ask, I dont ring mine very often as I feel i am a pest and just worrying about nothing. But i want this baby sooo much that i am scared something will happen and i wont ring her in time and it will be too late.

Hi Kim
I have definitely rung my mw more this pg than in the past but there have been real reasons for my calls. Independent mws in NZ get paid quite a substantial amount to look after each pg woman and I truly believe it is better to be safe than sorry especially after pg loss.
Keep safe - glad to hear bubs is moving more...it is very reassuring.
Claire

Kim, I rung my obst, a lot and even went in for NST's and HB checks alot, (no appt). He was fantastic and made me feel like I WASN'T wasteing his time. Maybe you should just mention your concerns to your mw and ask her if she minds you ringing for "every little thing", I'm sure given your circumstances she will be understanding.
Take Care
Luv Ally

So far I haven't yet - but I guess the situation is a little different.
With Cameron I rang the midwife three times throughout the pregnancy, once I had the flu, heartburn, and to go to the hospital.
Midwives are paid to look after you, and its better to ring them for little things than not at all and kick yourself for it later.

I agree with Ally, talk to your midwife and see if she minds you calling about every little thing, I did and it was very reassuring to know she didn't mind, I even found myself NOT calling as often after that, just knowing was enough, she also said I could go into the clinic without an appt to go on the monitor whenever I wanted, like the others have said, thats what they're paid (and a tidy sum I hear too) for. I'm sure your midwife will be mindfull of your history.
