She looks wonderful! I love the colour.
Man-o-man my wee boy has that same nappy done up on the tightest fitting! He seems to have really slender hips and tummy (can't take after me ).
Right off to make some 'taggie' blankets while Angus is asleep. Will post some pics when I'm done.

These aren't exactly nappies - but I felt the need to show off my creative exploits! The two top blankets are the same with different coloured polar fleece on each side, one for Angus and one for his little friend Jack . The blanket at the bottom of the pic is for my sister's baby, so is gender nuetral, it has yellow polar fleece on the other side. For those of you who havn't seen a 'taggie' blanket before (I'd never seen one until recently) they are small (A4) cuddly blankets with different colours/textures and with little ribbon tags around the outside. If you've ever noticed a baby playing with the tags on their toys you'll understand why a blanket like this has certain appeal to them .

that's a very cool idea Lizzie and a great way to use up offcuts of material!

Can anyone tell me if it's harder to make a pocket nappy with FOE than with lastin? I've just ordered more supplies from Green Beans to make some more pockets and I'm considering trying out the pattern that has gussets and FOE. Any advice?

That might be what Manda made me? Not sure about the making side of things but they have been totally leak free, the gussets are great.
Here's the latest ones:

I'd defiantely go for the lastin for ease of sewing, the foe looks nice, but it's tricky if you haven't done it before, I had to have a couple of practice goes (hope they're ok Emma).
Here's a pic of my home made naps, you may have seen a couple in earlier posts, I'm kind of fine tuning my collection, now I have a style that works for us, I've taken out the ones that aren't suited to Loralei.
and I've just starte trying out side snaps.

Very nice - Loralei must have the best dressed bottom in town!
Have you ever tried making all-in-ones?
ETA: The new ones are great Manda, love the snaps as they sit a bit differently so it's easier to attach their apnoea monitors to. And like I said before, the gussets make them totally leakproof even overnight. Thanks so much!

Here's a question for you experienced nappy-makers:
I just found a whole lot of white muslin baby wraps, each is about the size of a flat cotton nappy. I was thinking of making them into pre-folds for Julia's pocket nappies. Am I on the right track? Would I have to use another fabric with them or is muslin absorbant enough on its own?
Also, I've been doing a big clear out and found heaps of bits of fabric from various sewing projects over the years. If anyone is interested in any of it, I can tell you what I have and you are welcome to it! (Lizzie, some of it would be great for making taggie blankets)

I have used double thickness muslin to make prefolds but found that it was a bit thin so i added a layer of hemp in the middle. They work really well, and I like that they are only cotton and hemp, no synthetic fabrics, so i use them when Angus has a sore bum or its really hot.
My prefolds are three panels, the two outer panels have 3xmuslin and 1x hemp and then inner panel has 5x muslin and 1x hemp. This was the double thickness muslin though.
I'll have to say no to the fabric, though thanks for offering. I have so much fabric just waiting to be sewn I can't justify getting more!

Hi Kim, do you mind if I get back to you with a definite list in a couple of days? Mum is going to have a look through and see what she can use first. Then I'll make a list and take some photos. Most of what i have is cotton and stretch knit, a bit of heavy upholstery material and there are also some offcuts of corduroy & polar fleece. I think that generally covers it. Will let you know.

Someone sent me a couple of nappies yesterday and thought that I'd share a couple of pictures. They are only of one type as the other two pictures on my other camera!
These have been great to use

Nice Telly! Are the pockets fleece?
I have just been on a bit of a nappy bender fueled by my depression that the Fuzzi's I ordered 3 weeks ago are still not here and they can't even tell me when they will arrive
So I bought the gremlins an ecobubs wool pocket each in candy stripe coz have heard great things about them, and 2 more peapods in cream, and 2 candy pink drybees and 2 pale blue swaddlebees, so I think I have more than enough nappies now!

I love the Ecobubs wool pockets too. I have the orange one in one of my hire kits, but I have to confess that it has been used on Angus once or twice!
Emma - your Fuzzi's have taken 3 weeks! Noooooooooo.......thats way too long. I hope Charity (from Honeychild) doesn't read this forum, but I have to say that I have been really disapointed in their service recently. I had big hassles organising my order for the hire kits, and then they stuffed up and I ended up with 2 lots which they kept forgetting to send a courier pack for me to return them in. My good friend Nyree also ordered a few weeks back and they took ages to get them to her and then they forgot her free insert.
I really like Charity and we have had some very nice talks on the phone, she has been trying to convince me to become an agent for Fuzzi's. I was dead keen as they are one of my most favourite nappies but after all this miscomunication with them I have decided not to. Such a pity cause I reckon there is a few bucks to be made here in New Plymouth too.

Kim, here are some pictures of the fabric bits that I have to give away.
offcuts of blue & white cotton, a very long, large piece of cotton material with an ethnic print (never used) and offcuts of flanelette pajama material
end pieces of heavier fabric and some offcuts of brown cord
offcuts of grey polar fleece, teale stretch lacy material, green stretch
