1 week to go . . . . .
and I don't really feel excited (just hugely anxious and scared), which is making me feel bad, and it doesn't help that I'm a complete grouch, very snappy. I apologise for not replying to posts and not e-mailing, my head just hasn't been in it. Loralei is lying prosterier so I'm trying to lean forward as much as poss to get her to turn (she is head down), which is hugely uncomfortable. It's really comforting that she still moves quite a bit and a little unnerving that I'm having heaps of braxton hicks and quite strong ones too, I know this is good, it's just hard work at the moment, all in preparation I guess. I just can't wait till she's here, I am soooo tired of being pregnant (glad I am and can, but over it after almost 2 years of it). Just needed a wee vent, hope everyone is well, take care all......

Ooooh Manda so close now! I know the posterior bubs feeling - Maya was posterior right up until labour the little monkey! One thing my m/w told me to do was to kneel on the floor over a beanbag when I was watching TV etc. to give her room to move. It was pretty uncomfortable, but something obviously worked coz she was born facing the right way!
Will be thinking of you over the next week, and looking forward to seeing the first pics of your gorgeous little Loralei!

Oh Manda, I know how hard that last week is. You just want it out now. Take care hon, and try and keep busy. Hope you are managing to get some rest, before you are up to night feeds etc..... (all good though, I wouldn't have had it any other way).
My thoughts are with you this week.

Thanks Ally. Yeah it has been quiet. My head hasn't been in it the last couple of weeks. I'm feeling pretty anxious at the moment, I feel like I'm in limbo, waiting for Monday and wishing away anything bad that may happen (yes, I know it's unlikely, but I can't help feeling like if it happened once it can happen again) so I've been avoiding imagining what it's going to be like when bubs arrives. I have managed to finally pack my bags for hospital and we've decided to put the bassinette in our room this weekend and the carseat in the car whcih we hadn't planned on doing till baby had arrived, progress I guess. I'm still finding it hard to get excited, which is making me feel bad, which in turn is making me a grouch, goes with the territory I guess. Thats it from me for now, concentration is lagging again. Take care everyone...

Manda, I am thinking of you lots! I can understand your hesitation to set up the car seat etc... I am glad that you have taken that step, it must have been difficult. The hours must be dragging, hang in there!
I am looking for ward to the first pics of Loralei!!!

It sure is, and as predicted I'm wide awake at 4am, have been since 2.30, the nerves have well and truely kicked in. I was telling Corey last night that I feel like I'm in a race to get there first before 'the bad things'. Yesterday had to have been one of the longest days of my life. Thanks for all your well wishes and thoughts, I really appreciate it. (((hugs))) to you all. I'll catch up when we get home I guess.

Manda, I never asked you whether Loralei turned before you gave birth? If so, what helped it to happen?
My bubba is posterior at the moment so I am doing heaps of the leaning forward over a beanbag thing...I can't wait till I can lie on my back again!! And I am getting to the really grumpy stage too with 4 weeks still to go...

Hi Alana,
Loralei was engaged until the week before I had her, then she decided to float again, she still hadn't turned by the time I got to hospital even with lots of leaning forward and hand and knee stuff, I'm not 100% sure but I think she turned during labour, but to be honest I wasn't paying much attention to what position she was in but I'm sure she was born in the right position (how hopeless am I), by that time I just wanted her out, Mum might be able to shed some light on whether she was in the right position or not, , but sorry, nothing helped turn her before it was time, keep up with the bean bag thing, good luck, I totally sympathise with you on the last 4 weeks, it's a long haul.
Coreys just informed me that my midwife kept turning her.
