Looking at him alongside Amelie I think they look a bit alike - hopefully we will get to watch him grow and wonder what Amelie would have looked like as she grew....

Your little man is gorgeous Melanie, and so nearly here! I'm pleased you made a decision you feel comfortable with and it sounds like you have a good relationship with your OB which is important too.

That's a gorgeous picture, Melanie. Glad to hear that you have your birth plan all sorted, I hope you have peace of mind about it. All the best for the remaining weeks, I hope they fly past for you!

A little update from me - have 28 days to go now till scheduled caeser on the 5th of Feb. Unless babe decides to come earlier in which case I'd try for a well monitored labour with caeser as backup.
He has been doing lots of wriggles and kicks which is comforting but sometimes so hard it is actually 'gasp type' painful! At least he keeps me ressured eh?
I see my mw this am and have another scan this week - so far baby seems to be growing really well and is big for dates (esp his head lol!) so maybe the caeser is the best idea really!
I have been a bit up and down, miss Amelie and still cannot understand or rationalise why she is not here. people say in time you can make sense of it and now 1.5 years on from her birth and death I must say I cannot. Still I feel so grateful to be pg and to have things going well so far - this last little stretch seems to be hard because its so close and yet we all know how things can change in a heart beat.
Sorry I have not been around - find sitting at the computer too much is uncomfy everywhere!
Happy New Year everyone!!! - May 2007 bring more joy and happiness than we have ever known.

Hi Melanie,
Wow only 28 days to go, how exciting, scary too but very exciting.
Glad to hear things are all well and bubs is keeping you reassured with all his movements, even the uncomfortable ones, boys eh
I don't think you ever really come to make sense over losing your child, and if you do I'm still waiting as well.
Take care and lots of hugs ( I know how hard the home stretch can be)
Jacqui

Wow Melanie.....We are both coming up on the dates pretty close to each other.
My induction date hasn't been set yet, but the dr.'s are going to do an amnio during
my 37th week, which will be the week of Jan.22nd, and if the amnio goes well, they will induce.
So I should be going in sometime between Jan 22nd and Jan 26th.
I hope the next 28 days go fast for you. Can't wait to see the pics.
Bridget

Feeling rather neurotic on the home stretch - so close and yet... I cannot contemplate the worst it would almost kill me I feel.
So just trying to be positive, having a cry every now and then cos I still so miss Amelie and its all so wierd she is not here.
See the OB on Wednesday - he has been away over the Xmas hols.
Any tips on how to get through these last 21 days???

I know it's a bit cliche, but, one day at a time hun. I hate to say it, but the home stretch for me was the longest and hardest, I couldn't sleep the night before my induction, I think I remember getting 2 hours. Try to keep busy with non physical things (I found doing too much else exhausting), do you do any kind of crafting, knitting, baking, reading (I tried reading but my mind kept wandering), SLEEPING if you can, get as much as possible while it's possible. Even do what you can to remember Amelie, like painting a picture or writing poetry, almost like giving yourself time alone with her before this little one arrives.
Let us know how you get on at the ob on wed.
OOooo can't wait to see pics of this little one.
Take care, (((hugs))).

Thanks Manda, I will get into the reading and baking (yum) and maybe painting (though that takes alot of energy, the concentration is good) and spend time with Amelie and her stuff as you say. I plan to go through the 100 or so cards we received and tidy up the book of photos of her. I thought I would have done this earlier in the pg but have not felt like it so will see how I go and take it gently.
Time seems to be going really slowly ad each day seems like a day our baby could die. Crumbs! At least I am not the first to go through this!

Hi again Melanie,
I know what you mean about every day being a day the baby could die, every hour felt like an eternity esp if bubs wasn't moving, I would constantly be prodding her and trying to get he to move, I wouldn't be able to concentrate on anything till she moved, I couldn't get out of bed in the morning till she had moved. You're definatly not alone, plenty of girls here know just what you are going through.
It is hard esp in late pg to get motivated to doing even the easiest of things, but once you're into it time flys, try and enjoy the time you can spend with Amelie (you know what I mean). I also talked to both Loralei and Trinity about each other, let them know they were going to have a sister, it made it a bit more real and helped me feel a bit more positive about a hapy outcome.

Oh Melanie, those last few weeks are the hardest. Just take it one day at a time and try and keep yourself busy, even if it is just meeting a friend for a coffee, it all helps to take your mind off it. Can't wait to hear your birth story and find out if Amelie has a brother or sister.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TODAY. Hope you have a great day.
Luv Ally
